How to use fill flash:

  1. Set you camera up to expose the background perfectly. Ignore the subject and don’t use a flash at this point.
  2. Take a photo with the subject and you should see that the background looks great but the subject is in silhouette.
  3. Add a flash on the subject ‘filling’ them with light.

Cultural photography read and write

A cultural photograph is a photograph taken by someone from another culture. shooting images for the purpose of creating a story about a person or a culture The photographs might be as simple as pictures of people, as ubiquitous as road sceneries, or as intricate as capturing images that delineate social relationships. Cultural photography can occur either purposefully or unconsciously. The images will have narrative and pedagogical value for the deliberate cultural photographer, but having instructive value does not mean the photographs will be less enjoyable. For more than a century, outstanding cultural photography has been teaching its audience. Objects and symbols are key parts of many cultural traditions and make excellent photographic subjects. Pay attention the next time you’re at a festival or celebration.
