Shoot like Aaron Siskind

The picture above is one of many Aaron Siskind’s works, I love it because the detailed that is captured is absolutely perfect. you can notice everything whether its the cracks or the detail in the openings. I also like how most of his work is in black and white, its different from other photographers and kind of like a signature work from him, so when seeing his work, you know its Aaron Siskind.

3 question critique

  1. What is the purpose of the main light? The key light is the first and usually most important light that a photographer, cinematographer, lighting cameraman, or other scene composer will use in a lighting setup. The purpose of the key light is to highlight the form and dimension of the subject.
  2.  What is the purpose of the fill light? Its purpose is to literally fill in the shadows. If you use a main light source, also known as a key light, alone, you will inevitably create very dark shadows on the side of the subject that is not directly lit up by the main light.
  3. List the lighting patterns. Split, vibrant, 3 quarter and butterfly.
